Sugar-coating

Receiving these delicious cakes from my bestie, makes me so happy not only because I received it for free (hahahah which was an added point, tbh) but also, because these were all from someone who happens to be a graduate of Heny Sison culinary school.

The adrenaline rush is too overwhelming! It's as if you found "the one"

When you are on a diet or when people look up to you as if you're that kind of girl/boy who'll not give in to chocolate cakes (or your food-standards are way too high), but you did, you wouldn't exactly say that you ate one and it made you feel good. Yes, It's hard to like something so much secretly, but it's harder to pretend you don't like chocolate cakes even if it's your most favorite thing in this world.

However, one person taught me that not all sweets are good, not all treats are as pretty as they seem and basically not all those who show sweetness are sweet. Once you get to taste them, they will haunt you with sleepless nights, and overwhelming desire to taste it again and again, then you cannot anymore control your own feelings. You forget all the bad things in this world, even the bad that is in the sweetness. It will control you and haunt you for the rest of your life, there'd be moments when you'll find it hard to move on. No matter what, you'll still give in because you thought that chocolates / desserts will save your life, will wipe your tears and will make you feel happy, again.

One day, you'll find out how they were all just bitter gourds coated with frosting and edible flowers. A temporary ecstasy, which will forever be attached to you.

Friends, the point is, we are surrounded by all kinds of desserts / confections, they surely looks yummy, once we get a taste of the sweetness, we get a different kind of high, some people even becomes blind.

It's hard to move on from the taste you've gotten used to. You'd try to go on a diet, but still crave. You'll try to hide it, by trying to appear as if you're now a vegetarian; or your lunch is already enough even without a dessert. The truth is, we always want to find our perfect dessert. But then every so often, we find them on the wrong time, for the wrong reason, at the wrong place.

At times, we'll find them half-sliced or boxed and ribboned for another person; but, we're still willing to wait for own boxes to arrive too, because we always want to assume that dessert makes every meal complete.

Like how it completed mine then left me with toothaches.

Love, Patricia
